A Season of Renewal
There are seasons in the life of every spiritual teaching when a gentle turning takes place — a time of refinement, renewed focus, and quiet transformation. What has served faithfully for many years begins to evolve, not because its essence has diminished, but because its next expression is ready to emerge. The natural closing of one chapter makes space for the birth of another, allowing the vision to take on a form that meets the needs of the present moment. Hamblin Vision Publishing was born from such a moment — a recognition that the wisdom of Henry Thomas Hamblin, and the spirit behind his work, still has a vital place in the world today.
The Enduring Power of Hamblin’s Teachings
For over a century, Hamblin’s writings have offered a simple but transformative message: that the light within us is real, accessible, and capable of shaping a better life — not only for ourselves, but for all beings. His emphasis on inner growth, spiritual psychology, and the quiet power of constructive thought continues to resonate with readers who long for depth, clarity, and peace.
The Legacy of The Hamblin Trust
For many decades, The Hamblin Trust carried this message forward with devotion, integrity, and a spirit of service. Its work reached far beyond readers of spiritual books. Through the Hamblin Centre, (on the grounds of Hamblin’s former home in Bosham, West Sussex), the Trust offered a living, breathing community where people at many different stages of life found companionship, inner nourishment, and space to heal. Meditation groups, discussion circles, holistic therapies, counselling, retreats, yoga and pilates classes all unfolded within the gentle atmosphere of Hamblin Hall and its surrounding gardens. The land itself — with its tranquillity, its contact with nature, and the healing stone brought from Avebury — became a place where many found solace in times of grief, loneliness, transition or awakening. Those who guided and supported the Centre over the years helped countless individuals reconnect with themselves, with others, and with the deeper truth in their own hearts.
Green Door Centre, Open as Usual
The Green Door Centre at Bosham remains open as usual and continues to operate as a distinct and separate business, as it has done since May 2023. We are delighted to see Emma, Marianne and the team continuing to offer transformational spiritual work and wellbeing activities for all ages. Henry Hamblin embraced change and we feel certain that his heart would be filled with peace and joy to see how his own principles of listening closely to the guidance of Nature and of the universal spirit of love and creativity continue in the work that takes place at his former home in Bosham.
From the moment Green Door opened its doors, it has carried forward the essence of Hamblin’s vision in a fresh, vibrant and community-rooted way. The land that once held Hamblin’s contemplative work continues to nurture transformation through movement, meditation, nature connection, ceremony and heartfelt companionship. Green Door has brought new life to the grounds — with shamanic journeys marking sacred points in the calendar, weekly community gatherings, flourishing meditation sessions, and an ever-growing offering of activities for children and young people. This focus on the next generation feels deeply aligned with Hamblin’s own understanding that spiritual growth is not static; it evolves, adapts, and meets each new era with openness and courage. In Green Door’s hands, the land at Bosham continues to be a place where people of all ages can slow down, reconnect, explore their inner world, and be reminded of the simple truth that healing and insight arise naturally when we feel safe, welcomed, and held by community.

A Natural Transition, A Continuing Light
With the recent closure of The Hamblin Trust, a chapter has come to a natural end. But the transmission of wisdom from one generation to the next continues.
Thank you to the former Trustees
In recent years, the work of The Hamblin Trust has been carefully guided through a time of profound change by its trustees: Noel Raine (Chair), Victoria Willson, James Ashby and David Willson. Together they have carried significant responsibility during a delicate and complex period — overseeing the sale of the Bosham site to Green Door in May 2023, supporting the evolution of The Hamblin Vision into a predominantly online offering, and holding the Trust steady as its activities moved into a more nomadic pattern of hired venues, virtual gatherings, Zoom classes and recorded teachings. Their dedicated service has helped ensure that Hamblin’s legacy could be passed on with clarity, kindness and care, rather than simply coming to an abrupt end.
Partners in the New Venture
As Hamblin Vision Publishing takes shape as an independent venture, we are grateful also for the support of our partners, Alison Sheppard and Sarah Pullinger. Having previously served as bookkeepers to The Hamblin Trust between 2023 and 2025, Alison and Sarah now continue to accompany the work of Hamblin Vision Publishing, offering their skills in finance, bookkeeping and oversight in a spirit of generosity and shared purpose. Their contribution helps to provide a sound and transparent foundation for the practical side of our publishing work, so that the aims of the project can unfold with confidence.
In a separate article, Carrying the Light Forward — Behind the Scenes at Hamblin Vision Publishing, we share more about the unfolding story of Hamblin Vision Publishing and the people currently helping to carry this work into its next chapter.
Our Commitment to Preserving Hamblin’s Work
We aim to complete the reissue of all Hamblin’s writings so that future generations can discover them anew. Many of Hamblin’s texts remain profoundly relevant, offering insights into consciousness, spiritual development, and the inner work of cultivating peace and goodwill. It is our intention to preserve their essence while presenting them in a way that meets the needs of contemporary readers.
Opening the Door to New Voices
Yet our vision does not end with preservation. Hamblin Vision Publishing has been created to honour this legacy while opening the door to new voices, new perspectives, and new expressions of inner truth. We exist to publish books, articles, and teachings that uplift, inspire, and encourage a more conscious and compassionate way of living. Our intention is not merely to reissue what has gone before, but to build a living conversation — one that bridges the timeless and the modern, the contemplative and the practical, the mystical and the everyday.
A Home for Spiritually Grounded Writing
Our aim is to offer a place where thoughtful, spiritually grounded writing can be found: reflections on consciousness, practical wisdom for daily living, explorations of the inner life, and guidance for navigating both personal and collective change. We hope to support readers in exploring their own path, whether through quiet contemplation, gentle encouragement, or bold insight that sparks a shift of awareness.
An Invitation to Walk With Us
We invite you to walk with us as this new chapter begins. We hope Hamblin’s teachings bring you something of value. And to writers whose work aligns with the spirit of kindness, our door is open.
