Astrological Update from 10th August – 23rd August 2026

During the last week in August, there is an opportunity for greater consideration of others and compromise. The ability to harmonise and understand other people relates to Venus being in Libra. It can be steadied and strengthened by the opposition from retrograde Saturn in Aries. This position of Saturn may also kerb impetuousness and the desire for autonomy, which can further enable compromise.

At this time, Jupiter is in Leo suggesting more creativity, joy and fun. It can also be linked with an enhanced sense of self-importance, pride or arrogance. As Saturn interacts harmoniously with Jupiter, the upbeat facets of Jupiter’s energy may manifest in measured outlets for inspiration and innovation while any sense of superiority or being better than others may be held in check.

The full Moon in Pisces early in the morning of 28th August is opposite the Sun in Virgo. It is also a lunar eclipse, which can be associated with experiences of an inner nature. With this lunar eclipse being in Pisces, emotions may be felt more strongly and might awaken greater empathy or compassion that could be channelled into some form of service.

Mercury is close to the Sun in Virgo in the days around the lunar eclipse. Thoughts as well as feelings may be analysed and discussed. There could be any number of different ideas and potential solutions due to an interaction with Uranus in Gemini. The combination of being aware of sensitive issues and being willing to discuss them, if appropriate, might open up avenues for acceptance and resolution.

The process may require adjusting the approach to, and stand taken on, old issues. Being deeply sensitive to all facets of what had gone on before while striving to be dispassionate might open up avenues for a total transformation that transcends anything previously considered.

Venus in Libra is opposite retrograde Chiron in Taurus from 31st August. As both of these heavenly bodies are in signs ruled by Venus there is a link between them even though they are in totally different signs of the zodiac. Finding more harmonious ways to consider other people may lead to a greater sense of security and trust in the connection between the material and spiritual worlds.

At the end of August and beginning of September, it may be helpful to choose words carefully so they convey exactly what needs to be said. While self-analysis offers opportunities for self-improvement, avoiding being overly critical, particularly self-critical, could be beneficial. It can also lead to greater inner peace. This relates to links between Mercury in Virgo, Mars in Cancer, Jupiter in Leo and Saturn in Aries.

It seems that so much is changing in the world at present. This can be demanding in so many ways and areas of life including the material, emotional and mental levels as well as the spiritual plane.

Looking at the heavens can give us some indication of why these changes are happening now. The Earth has moved into the Age of Aquarius that will last over two thousand years. In 2020, Jupiter and Saturn were conjunct in Aquarius beginning a two-hundred year period when they will meet every twenty years in one of the air signs, Gemini, Libra or Aquarius. Pluto began a twenty year transit of Aquarius late in 2024.

This emphasis on the sign of Aquarius highlights several facets of life today including use of the mind, technology and the power of groups. Groups may be small or large, the community, nations and ultimately all forms of life on Earth. There may be a move away from the power of selected individuals towards what benefits all those in a group.

Humanity is learning so much about technology and the power of the mind while Uranus is in Gemini and Pluto is in Aquarius. There are always challenges when learning something new but the opportunities for growth are huge. It may be likened to the butterfly emerging from the constraints of the pupa. Free to fly and discover so much of what life has to offer…..

The three outermost planets all changed signs over the last year bringing new energies. Only those in their late seventies or older have had experience of Uranus in Gemini but no one has had any experience of Neptune in Aries or Pluto in Aquarius. Everyone is learning together. All are part of this exciting stage in human evolution.

Keep well, stay happy.
