The outward drive for action continues. However, it may now be accompanied by a wish to direct much of that energy into ways of service. In addition, thought may be given to brilliant new ideas and inventions to see how they can be implemented in practical ways. This relates to the majority of planets being in the fire, earth or air elements and all of the planets moving in forward motion for another couple of days.
With Mars, Saturn and Neptune in the fire sign of Aries there is an urge to transcend boundaries of what has been done previously but it will be done with caution. Although it might be tempting to rush ahead impulsively, it is as if an inner voice might be saying ‘be careful, let us do this well’.
At the same time, Venus and Uranus are in the air sign of Gemini. Much joy may be derived from thinking and communicating. Old or staid ideas or ways of reasoning may no longer seem fitting. Flashes of inspiration and totally new concepts may spring up as if from nowhere. Even the way of thinking could seem transformed. Curiosity to look at what is original and different could be stimulating.
Such innovative and expansive energy is steadied by the Sun and Mercury being in the earth element of Taurus. This also helps to take the focus away from the head and mind. Thoughts and desires can be all-absorbing but it is when they are channelled into positive outlets that they can be of most use. This may be through creating physical objects, giving service or projecting thoughts of love into the world.
After several weeks when the focus has largely been outward, another phase begins when there can be some inner review. This relates to Pluto in Aquarius going retrograde at the end of the first week of May. Issues that the soul is now ready to address may arise from the subconscious to be looked at again in the light of current wisdom. This complements the truth sought by Uranus in Gemini.
At this time, there is an opportunity to look objectively at feelings and emotional issues. There may be a way to move beyond old habits and behaviours. This may include considering a more compassionate approach, not only to others but also to ourselves. At a deeper level, this touches on the oneness of all life. It is linked with interactions between the Moon, its nodes, Neptune and Pluto on 8th May.
As Uranus is in the first degree of Gemini, it may be thought of as learning how to introduce new forms of communication and express truth through this sign. Until 12th May, Uranus’ main interactions are with the outer planets, Neptune and Pluto. This suggests that the focus is on the collective. There may be changes in the local community, society as a whole or between different nations.
Chiron has been in Aries for seven years offering a prolonged opportunity to look at the self and the true identity. Some people may have been working on courage and bravery while other people may have learned about self-worth or being spontaneous. Much energy might be directed towards these pursuits during May while Mars is close to Chiron.
The new Moon in Taurus on 16th May suggests a time of delight in the beauty of nature. It might feel particularly so this year as Jupiter in Cancer interacts with the Sun and Moon. Feelings may be accentuated at this time but so could the urge to look after loved ones, family members or projects that need cultivating so they can develop to their full potential.
Mercury moves into Gemini on 17th May joining the Moon, Venus and Uranus. As Gemini is ruled by Mercury and Uranus is said to be a higher octave of Mercury, the mind, thinking, talking and communication via all sorts of channels may be lively. Everyday themes could be interspersed with novel, inventive and unique topics.
These planets in Gemini provide the opportunity to learn and share information, expanding the mind and how it works. This runs in parallel to, and is necessary for, the expansion of consciousness that is currently taking place. Truth could take on a different meaning as wisdom replaces knowledge. Some people may take a little time to become accustomed to the changes while others may find them exciting and energising.
Keep well, stay happy.
