Communication is the theme on 18th May when four planets are in Gemini. Information could be coming from so many different directions with all sorts of facts and data. It could be a stimulating and fascinating time with a sense of comfort in the multiplicity and diversity of interactions. However, there is also the possibility of tension due to information overload. Practical activities may help counter the focus on mental activities.
It is the proximity of Mercury to Uranus in Gemini over the next few days that contributes to extensive use of the mind, not only in routine, everyday ways but also with flashes of inspiration that exceed previous ways of thinking. Inspiration to do the most ordinary things differently may lead to unexpected changes in day-to-day life. There is the potential for even the way of thinking to undergo transformation.
Many thoughts may be directed towards the collective. Looking more deeply at what needs to be done for the good of the whole could give rise to changes within society. These may come about in many small and diverse ways but add up to much larger changes. This is linked with the harmonious interaction between the Mercury-Uranus conjunction in Gemini and retrograde Pluto in Aquarius.
On 19th May, Venus and the Moon move from the air sign of Gemini into the water sign of Cancer. As Jupiter is also in Cancer but Mercury and Uranus remain in Gemini, the mental mind may be balanced with the feelings. Logic and reason can be integrated with sensitivity and intuition. This offers a much broader range for perceiving what is going on in life and working out the best reactions to life’s events.
Until 20th May, both the Sun and Mars are in the earth sign of Taurus. This brings a strong, steadying influence. Novel ideas may find outlet in the material world. Bringing new concepts into physical manifestation takes courage and hard work, which may be encouraged by Saturn being in Aries. During the following week, an interaction between Mercury and Saturn may assist in steadying thoughts.
Also on 20th May, all planets with the exception of Saturn, interact with the nodes of the Moon. It feels as if there is a big push to integrate what has been learned about service in the past into a more comprehensive understanding of the whole of life. Life goes far beyond the visible and tangible realms of our immediate environment.
An increasing awareness that life transcends such physical limitations is supported by the interactions between Neptune in Aries, Uranus in Gemini and retrograde Pluto in Aquarius. Not only is personal understanding of life expanding to incorporate collective awareness but there is a shift in consciousness from the physical level of life to include other levels and ultimately cosmic consciousness.
Such diversity of thinking is further highlighted when the Sun moves into Gemini on 21st May and is close to Uranus, the planet sometimes called the truth- and light-bringer. This may be a time when awareness of the Sun’s light expands to include appreciation of the spiritual light of the Sun. Simply thinking about this may lead to different ways of thinking.
The Sun and planets are in one half of the zodiac from Aquarius through to Cancer. During the second half of May, the Moon crosses the other half of the zodiac and interacts with each of the planets at different times. It is not surprising that reactions change with changes in the world. What brings a sense of comfort and security may also undergo changes.
The full Moon in Sagittarius is opposite the Sun in Gemini on 31st May. Looking at the broader scope of life may help understand the smaller facets of living on Earth in the present times. ‘Small’ does not mean insignificant. Sometimes, so much can be learned from wholly engaging with whatever is the immediate focus of attention.
This resonates so much with the soul lesson of Gemini: brotherhood through wisdom. It is through engaging with other people and life that wisdom is gained. This may be through small interactions but it is also through the major events and how they are handled. Small and major events may seem to be totally different experiences but they all contribute to wisdom.
Unfolding the wisdom of spirit and enabling it to manifest through the soul and physical being is part of being human and contributes to the development of spiritual qualities.
Keep well, stay happy.
