Neptune enters Aries on 26th January. Apart from a few months in 2025, Neptune has not been in Aries since 1875. With the exception of those months last year, this is the first time people alive today have experienced this energy. As Neptune will remain in Aries until 2039, it is worth looking look at what this could mean for humanity and other forms of life on Earth.
Neptune can be thought of as the planet that represents transcending boundaries from the most physical ones to those between the seen and unseen worlds. Aries, as the first sign of the zodiac, is pioneering, brave and courageous. It can take the initiative and lead. The soul lesson of Aries is love in action. When we combine the energy of the planet with the qualities of the sign, we can begin to understand what Neptune in Aries may hold.
There may be new and pioneering ways of crossing physical boundaries or borders between countries. This may be through different ways and means of travelling overseas or routes and reasons for migration, both immigration and emigration.
The imagination is often linked with Neptune. While imagination might be thought of as a purely thought-based activity, it can also be thought of as impulses coming from higher realms of life prompting creativity, ideals and visions. When Neptune is in Aries there may be innovative use of the imagination in the arts with different perceptions of beauty and means of artistic expression emerging.
This might be seen in fashion with further ideas of what we wear, how we furnish our homes and the design of buildings. There could be new forms of drama and outlets for performances. Fantasy films and science fiction could take on totally different roles, perhaps bringing ideas of spirituality into the everyday domain.
New forms of music may introduce the ‘music of the spheres’ into ordinary peoples’ lives. Advanced instruments may be designed that produce music unlike any heard before. More people may begin to see colours when they hear music, or vice versa, a process called synaesthesia.
Ideals and visions are linked with Neptune. When this planet is in Aries, inspired ideals might stimulate progressive principles that guide humanity. A vision of a world led by love resonates with Neptune being in Aries. This is closely linked with the essence of Pluto in Aquarius: changes that bring about a shared spirit of cooperation through love between all realms of life on Earth.
Neptune is perhaps the planet most associated with spirituality. When Neptune is in Aries, the understanding of spirituality may find new ways of expression. As spirituality is such an individual experience, more people may come to recognise their own spirituality and inner guidance.
For most of the next two weeks, five planets, the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Pluto, are in Aquarius. This highlights the spirit of co-operation through love. Unconventionality and individuality blend with awareness of what is best for the whole. Innovative and inventive ideas surface to bring totally different ways of approaching whatever may have become staid.
Much energy might be directed, sometimes in unpredictable ways, towards causes that benefit the community. Convention and tradition have often been thought of as the safest approach to life but sometimes something different and original can open up new vistas and a way forward. Using existing approaches to new activities or taking a new approach to a regular way of doing things can lead to progress.
The full Moon in Leo late on 1st February is opposite not only the Sun but, over the course of the day, will also be opposite each of the planets in Aquarius. At one level, it may seem as if there is a pull between wanting individual attention in contrast to focussing attention on the collective. At a deeper level, it is an opportunity to blend the love in the heart with love for all life.
During the first week of February, Saturn is in the last degree of Pisces. It may seem as if there is some urgency to dissolve old rules and regulations. It could seem as if there is a need to control whatever seems to be so fluid or cannot be pinned down. It is an opportunity to direct practical effort into the dreams, ideals and visions of the last two and a half years prior to Saturn moving into Aries in mid-February.
Keep well, stay happy.
